Associate Professor Geoffrey Thün will give a keynote lecture entitled 'Infra-Eco-Logi Urbanism' at Wageningen University in the Netherlands as part of its advanced studies program in Landscape and Urbanism on April 16, 2014. The talk will focus on SHED mapping methods and actor-network cartographies developed with Assistant Professor Kathy Velikov and within his research group RVTR that examine and propose possible futures of the Great Lakes Megaregion (GLM) in the context of renewable energy innovation and new mobility systems as transformative catalysts for urban formation, politics and design.

During this trip to the Netherlands, he will also lead an international workshop in collaboration with the Provincial government of Gelderland that has assembled international scholars and practitioners with experts from within the Netherlands to examine the future of mobility and energy related corridor development within the province. The workshop is part of a major three-year funded EU project to shape the future of urban formations through the respective lens of energy, mobility, environmental health and social transformation within the region. Work emanating from the project will shape policy and implementation of project development.
